november selection: dirtbag by dave kiersh
i found dirtbag zines online and if you visit the website at http://scottjacoby.freewebtools.com/index.html you can see just how simple yet busy these zines are. of issues four, six, and seven; issue six was probably my favorite. seven has the most writing, but i enjoy looking through the pictures to figure it out myself. dave's style is much like an indie richard scarry - a busy town of girl trouble, bad jobs, and puppetry. each has some color and lots of imagination. short and sweet, and usually $2 each.

the new review forum
this will not be a diary but an information center for kubba zine, as i mentioned in my first post. now you will not only find news updates on the zine, the corresponding web works, and any projects i am working on, but beyond that it is also zine reviews that i hope will become a zine club.


every month there will be a new pick where you can find out what it's like, where to get it, etc. i hope others will expand this by getting the zine or from already reading it, and share their thoughts on it. maybe authors will join in or distros that carry it. this is to promote zine reading and also zine discussion. i'd like to see viewer's zine choices too. anyone can post as little or as often as they'd like.
